So it’s January 1st and in common with many people, you may have made a New Year’s resolution to lose weight, stop smoking, cut down on your drinking, get fit, write that novel, work smarter or perhaps something completely different.
And as with every New Year you probably have optimism that you can achieve more, meet your aspirations and make those changes you crave. The euphoria of the New Year celebration and the hope that this year will be the one where you begin on a different path gives you the impetus to get started.
However many of us sometimes find it very difficult to maintain those aspirations and ambitions over a longer period of time. ‘Life’ always seems to get in the way and obstacles present themselves which make it increasingly difficult to keep in track.
Consciously you know what you want to do but when challenges arise it seems then as if this year will be like those others where you have not been able to keep to your path and so gradually you give up and consign your resolution to history.
