I recently saw an entry on Facebook by a friend of mine called Abigail which related a short conversation she had had with her son.
There have been a few of these which she calls “Conversations with a 2 year old” and titled this one as “Inspirational thought for the day”
It went like this:
Me (Abi): “I can’t see the sun”
George (son): “Yes you can see the sun. You just have to keep looking, then you will see it.”
It struck me for 2 reasons. Firstly because it came from that wonderful inhibition free mind that only small children seem to possess and secondly because it set me thinking about how we sometimes let ‘stuff’ get in the way of us seeing what we are really seeking clearly enough to be able to make it happen.
I think it helps us to remember as well that if we keep looking for what we want or keep striving towards our goals no matter what may obscure our view or path, then we give ourselves a better chance of succeeding.
As the saying goes: “out of the mouths of babes and infants”…
By the way Abi is an exceptionally talented photographer who I think saw through the fuzziness a while back to get some real clarity about what she wanted to do and then pursue it. You can take a look at some of her work here at The Cole Portfolio.
